Lane Fleming’s fourth hit of the game was his biggest as he singled in the 10th inning to score Dylan Klava with the winning run as McPherson College outlasted Central Christian College 5-4 Wednesday in the latest installment of intracity college baseball.

Mac now leads the season series 2-1 with one game left to play.

Klava had reached on a fielder’s choice, then moved around the bases on a groundout and wild pitch before Fleming delivered what proved to be the game-winner.

Soren Yarnall came on in the bottom of the 10th to preserve the win for Jeromy Denton.

The game was forced into extra innings when CCC’s Shomari Cann hit a dramatic two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth.

Mac, which inched closer to the .500 mark overall at 22-24, had 11 hits in the game. In addition to Fleming’s four, Klava had two as did Jakob Shields.

Central, now 12-32, wasted a four-hit game by Mario Rivera. Cann had two hits, two runs scored and two RBIs.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to host powerhouse Tabor on Saturday and Sunday. The Tigers host Arlington Baptist on Friday.
