McPherson College men’s basketball coach Tim Swartzendruber has announced the addition of Hesston High’s Zach Vogt to the Bulldogs.
The 5-10 senior point guard has been a mainstay for the Swathers of coach Greg Raleigh, including his senior season when he earned All-Central Kansas League and All-State honors.
“Zach is one of the top point guards in this area and state of Kansas," Swartzendruber saids. "He is a winner. The success Zach had as part of both the football and basketball teams at Hesston is proof. We have watched him in our summer league and throughout his high school career and he is a leader and is extremely competitive. Zach will fit with our current players and make an impact next year. We are extremely pleased he chose McPherson to continue his basketball career and get his education."
Vogt was a star receiver for the Swather football team this past fall that advanced to the Class 3A state championship game, losing 48-42 to Rossville.
Vogt will be the second Hesston Swather on the Bulldog roster. Grant Raleigh, who will be a junior, was the Bulldogs’ starting point guard this season.
The son of Amy and Scott Vogt, he plans to major in business.
