Central Christian College’s baseball team earned a split of the season-long series with crosstown rival McPherson College on Tuesday by winning a 5-2 decision at Light Capital Diamond.

The teams split the four games they played.

The Tigers ended an 11-game losing streak, as Zane Howard drove in two runs and Mario Rivera scored three.

McPherson College coach Bryan Moses, whose team was coming off a intense three-game series with nationally ranked Tabor College, rested all his starters and went with his reserves. Bryce Strecker took advantage by collecting two hits and driving in two runs.

Bryan Scott was the winning pitcher.

Central is now 13-32 on the season and home on Friday to take on College of the Ozarks. McPherson College is now 23-26 and wraps up regular-season play this weekend by playing three games against Bethany, two on Saturday and one on Sunday.
