McPherson College has added a highly acclaimed guard from Oklahoma, Bulldog men’s basketball coach Tim Swartzendruber announced today.

Jace Shepherd, from Fort Gibson, has joined the Bulldogs for the upcoming season.

"Jace Shepherd is a tremendous sign for us," Swartzendruber said.  "He comes from an outstanding program at Fort Gibson and was ranked in the Top 50 players in Oklahoma this year.  He is a great shooter and has outstanding basketball IQ. Not only is he a very good basketball player, Jace is a great student and involved in other activities at his school.  He will be a great fit in our program and college."

Shepherd averaged 16 points and 8 assists per game while leading Fort Gibson High School to a runner-up finish in the 2017 OSSAA Class 4A State Tournament.

He also played club ball with the Oklahoma Impact program.
