Public Library to Host Sweet Event for Teens and Law Enforcement Officers

The McPherson Public Library’s final teen event for the spring, Copcake Day, will be held on Tuesday, May 2nd at 5:30 p.m. Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to attend.

In an effort to promote positive youth and community alliances, the library is combining two things they have a great appreciation for: Cops and Cupcakes. Teens will decorate and eat cupcakes with some of McPherson’s police officers. The event promises to be an evening of great conversation, fun with friends, and sweet treats.

“Our yearly Cupcake Day has always been a huge draw for teens,” says Jennifer McCulley, Youth Services Coordinator. “We wanted to continue to offer what has always been a delicious and artistic event, but we also wanted it to grow. We also suspect that police officers appreciate cupcakes about as much as teens do!”

This program is free and open to any teen in grades 6-12. For more information on this and other teen programs visit the library’s website at or call 620-245-2570.
