C-G softball loses a pair to Cardinals

SEDGWICK — Canton-Galva’s softball team ran into a buzzsaw on Friday, losing a pair of games to Sedgwick.

Sedgwick scored seven runs in the first inning of the opener to key a 16-5 victory. The Eagles were held to six hits by six different players, all singles. 

Game 2 was close until Sedgwick scored six runs in the third after the game had been tied 5-5 after two. The Cardinals went on for a 15-5 success.

Jayci Mastre had two hits for the Eagles, one of them a double. Taylor Everett had a triple. Sedgwick put the game out of reach with four more runs in the fourth.
