McPherson College men’s basketball coach Tim Swartzendruber has been adding about a player a week as he’s been tireless on the recruiting trail.

Swartzendruber today announced the addition of Newton High guard Justen Schroeder. The 6-0 Schroeder averaged 5 points and 2.5 assists, while shooting 70 percent from the foul line.

“We were fortunate to watch Justen play these past few years in our fall basketball league," Swartzendruber said. "Justen is a fundamentally sound player who will be a great teammate. We love his attitude and work ethic. He is a talented musician also and will be part of our band program. Just has a lot of upside and comes from a great program at Newton. We are thrilled to have him join our program."

Schroeder will major in chemistry.
