The status of the suspended baseball and softball games between McPherson High and Salina South has been fluid all morning.

Here’s what we know now.

An attempt will be made to play the varsity baseball games between the schools today, but they will be contested at James Matson Field in Salina starting at 2:30. It was determined with the new rules on pitch counts and next week’s schedule (McPherson plays Buhler in games that could determine the league championship), all efforts will be made to get the games in today. South leads 5-1 in the fourth inning of Game 1. Rain is in the forecast, so it could be a sloppy field.

The softball games have been postponed. They will be made up May 10 in McPherson.
