LINDSBORG — Smoky Valley’s softball team stayed hot on Thursday as strong pitching keyed yet another sweep of Larned.
Jordan Otto improved to 5-4 as she threw a five-hitter in a 4-2 first-game victory. Katie Bellah smacked a pair of doubles to lead the Vikings. Lindsey Gerlach had two hits, one a double, and two RBIs. Jacque Hulse also stroked a double.
Megan Sample scattered six hits in Game 2 as the Vikings rolled to an 11-1 rout. Sample is now 6-3 on the year.
Hitting leaders were Kira Haxton (two hits, two runs scored), Bellah (three-run homer, two runs scored), Hulse (three-run homer, two hits), Madi Mitchell (two hits, RBI) and Gerlach (two runs).
Smoky Valley is now 11-7 and finishes regular-season play Tuesday at Hillsboro.
