Tigers' Wilcher, Carrigan honored

Two Central Christian College baseball players have received All-Conference honors.

The Tigers’ Hunter Wilcher capped a terrific first season with the team by being named to the AII Conference second team.

Wilcher played in all 49 of the Tigers' regular-season games and shared the team batting lead with Mario Rivera at .333. He had 53 hits, including 16 doubles, a triple and 9 homers. He had a slugging percentage of .616, tops on the team and an on-base percentage of .400.

The Tigers’ Troy Carrigan was named the AII Gold Glove winner at catcher.

He had a fielding percentage of .980 and threw out 15 runners trying to steal. He recorded 179 putouts and was credited with 22 assists while committing just 4 errors. 

Wilcher, Carrgian and their Tiger teammates are hosting the NCCAA Regional Tournament beginning Thursday at Light Capital Diamond. Pairings will be posted when released.
