MHS netters No. 2 in final rankings

The Kansas Tennis Coaches Association released its final state rankings on Sunday as state tournaments will be held this week.

McPherson High, as it has throughout the season, is No. 2 in Class 4A, trailing state favorite Wichita Collegiate.

Independence, which has been third most of the season, enters state on Friday at that position. Miege moved up to No. 4, with Andover Central No. 5.

Hesston goes into the Class 3-2-1A State Tournament as the No. 4-ranked team, trailing Sterling, Central Plains and Kansas City Christian. Conway Springs is No. 5.

The Class 4A finale is in Prairie Village, while the 3-2-1A tourney is in Garden City.
