GALVA — Canton-Galva’s baseball pitchers turned in their top effort of the year on Monday as the Eagles were able to gain a split with Remington.

Nick Pearson, Devyn Elkins, Reed Wiens and Jordan Gagnebin combined on a one-hitter as the Eagles were a 4-0 winner. They scored two runs in the first and two in the sixth for the victory.

Logan Miller drove in two runs, while Marshall Reedy and Hunter Pearson had an RBI apiece. Nick Pearson added two hits.

Remington was a 10-0 winner in the other game. Seven runs in the second inning propelled the Broncos to the win, while C-G was held to just two hits, one by Nick Pearson and the other by Richard Peterson.

C-G is now 4-10 on the season as rainouts have plagued its schedule.
