One day after announcing the signing of a top Arizona junior college point guard, McPherson College men’s basketball coach Tim Swartzendruber has announced the signing of an Arizona juco forward.
Lual Magot of Tuscon, Ariz., will be joining the Bulldogs for the 2017-18 season.
The 6-5 Magot, who is originally from South Sudan, didn’t have eye-popping numbers at Tohono O’odham Community College, but he could flourish with the Bulldogs as he’s an outstanding leaper and relentless on the offensive glass. He averaged 3.4 points and 2.1 rebounds, but shot 47 percent from the field and 71 from the line.
“Lual is an outstanding athlete and has tremendous upside as a basketball player," Swartzendruber said. "The fact he is an outstanding student and high character make him a great fit for us. We expect him to come in and compete for minutes in the post position. His athleticism and high motor will make him an immediate impact. We are extremely pleased he has chosen McPherson to continue his education and basketball career."
