Hesston golfers eye high state placing

INDEPENDENCE — If the weather holds up, Hesston High will be competing today in the Class 3A State Golf Tournament at Independence Country Club.

The Swathers qualified during last week’s regional meet at Eureka.

Hesston’s Tanner Bachman is in the first group of the day and goes off at 8:30. Other Hesston golfers are Jordan Roth (8:50), Tyler Bachman (9:00), Grant Brenneman (9:30), Dylan Prouty (9:30) and Kitt Regier (10:20).

Golfers are starting on both Nos. 1 and 10, which are both par-3s.

• INMAN"S SWISHER AT 2A – Inman's Daniel Swisher also is competing today as he tees it up in the Class 2A State Tournament at Garden City.

Swisher qualified as an individual.
