The awards haven’t stopped for McPherson College’s softball team that made a remarkable turnaround this season due to an infusion of some outstanding young talent.
Speedy outfielder Chelsea Conrad, just a sophomore, has been named to the NAIA All-Southwest Region second team announced this week by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).
Conrad started all 49 games she played this season, primarily in center field. She batted .355 with 50 hits, 10 doubles, four triples and an inside-the-park home run. She also drove in 19 and ranked second on the team with 35 runs scored. She shined in KCAC play where she hit a team-leading .407 with 24 hits, two doubles, three triples, 11 RBIs and 16 runs scored while slugging a team-best .591.
