Not only did McPherson College’s track and field team have a successful season in meets, it excelled in the classroom.

Six Bulldogs have been honored as Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes, according to an announcement made Tuesday by the national office.

Bulldogs honored were Jocelyn Cochran, Erika Doty, Jasmine Helms, Lauren Wankum, Ivanna Moyer and Jonathan Dominguez.

Four of the six also received Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors during the fall season, either as members of the Bulldog cross country team (Doty, Wankum, Dominguez) or volleyball (Cochran) team.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status.
