The annual Victory Soccer Camp at Central Christian College is well under way at Tiger Field.

According to camp director and CCC men’s soccer coach Aaron Hoxie, a whopping 83 youths are taking part in this year’s camp, which has been wildly popular down through the years.

Youths from Kindergarten through high school are taking part. According to Hoxie, there are participants from McPherson, Hutchinson, Hays and Salina.

The camp is running from 9:00 to 3:00 this week through Friday. Hoxie and members of the Central Christian College coaching staff are conducting the camp, along with McPherson High coaches Chris Adrian and Eric Burghart.

Hoxie said one of the goals of the camp is personalized training as with a number of coaches, players receive the attention they deserve.

“We want them to have at least 2,000 touches with the ball during the week,” Hoxie said.

There are a variety of drills that participants take part in, which results in them becoming better all-around players.
