McPherson High Athletic Director Shane Backhus has announced the schedule for the summer MHS SPS (Speed, Power, Strength) program.

This is open to all USD 418 students who will be in grades 7-12 this fall and it’s free. Girls start on Tuesday and boys on June 12.

The goals of the program are to improve speed, power and strength and reduce injury risk to all athletes.

Students have the opportunity to continue their training throughout the school year by enrolling in one of the SPS programs offered through the physical education department.

All training sessions are held in the MHS weight room, wrestling room, gyms and outdoor facilities.
