Dossett plays in KVA All-Star Game

TOPEKA — McPherson High’s Rachel Dossett competed on Saturday in the Kansas Volleyball Association All-Star Game at Washburn University’s Lee Arena that gathers the state’s top graduating seniors.

Dossett, who earned postseason honors this past season in helping the Bullpups advance to the Class 4A Division I State Tournament, played for the Blue team that came up short against the Reds in a five-game series.

The only win for the Blues was the third game, 25-23. The Reds won the other games by scores of 25-17, 25-20, 25-13 and 15-5.

Honors were given out by the KVA. Jazz Sweet of Shawnee Heights won the Joan Lundstrom Wells Award of Excellence, Kelsey Gordon of Emporia won the Flo Hyman Scholarship, Payton Meador of Waverly was given the Judy Bellomo Most Inspirational Award and Lexie Longbine of Emporia was the Don Bechard Award winner.
