The ping of aluminum will be replaced by the crack of the bat tonight when the McPherson Senior American Legion baseball team makes its home debut against the Salina Falcons.

First pitch is set for 6:00 at Grant Complex.

McPherson and Salina are part of the Central Kansas League and games this year have been designated as wood-bat games.

“I think most of the players are excited about swinging lumber,” McPherson coach Mark Reifschneider said. “It should speed the games up a little bit.”

Both teams competed last week in the Manhattan Tournament of Champions. Post 24 split its four games, while the Falcons went 1-3.
