Kyle Banman will find out right away just how his McPherson Aqua Pups stack up with the rest of the Great Plains Swimming League.
The Pups usher in their season tonight by hosting Haysville for a 6 p.m. dual at the McPherson Water Park.
“This will be a fun test,” Banman said. “Haysville won the league title last year, so it will be good to see how we match up with one of the biggest and strongest clubs in GPSL.”
Banman believes his upper ages could be strong.
“ I think our high school guys should have a solid meet, as will the 13-14 boys and girls age group,” Banman said. “For the high school girls, I know it's tough for them to turn right around from their season in the spring and go right into summer with us, so our numbers there aren't quite as strong, but we’ll see if this is common theme with the other teams.”
As for the younger swimmers, Banman is hoping for good things.
“With the 11-12 and then 10-and-under groups, we have a lot of new swimmers and ones who have aged up to the next group, so it will be interesting to see how that goes,” Banman said.
