MOUNDRIGE — Moundridge’s Senior Babe Ruth baseball team swept Haven in a pair of games this past week.

Moundridge was a 6-4 winner in Game 1, scoring three runs in both the third and fifth innings.

Dylan Sugars pitched 5 2/3 innings of one-hit ball and fanned 10. Caleb Frye finished up.

Moundridge was held to just three hits, but one was a big two-run triple by Chris Leddy.

“We took what the pitcher was giving us and put the ball in play to make Haven play defense,” said Moundridge coach Lynn Eichelberger.

Moundridge was an 11-6 winner in Game 2, with a five-run third inning the difference.

Noah Eichelberger had a monster game going 3 for 4 with a homer and three RBIs. Leddy had two hits, two runs scored and two RBIs. Peyton Fast added two hits and two RBIs.

Leddy picked up the win and Frye again came on to finish up. Leddy fanned nine in his four innings of work.

“Our top three hitters of Noah Eichelberger, Chris Leddy, and Peyton Fast combined to go 7 for 10 at the plate and accounted for seven RBIs between them and really carried us offensively in the second game,” Lynn Eichelberger said.

Moundridge is now 5-1 on the summer and plays Tuesday at Lindsborg.
