The Lindsborg Police Department recently purchased body cameras.

Software and hardware were installed which allows the body cameras to interact with the cameras that are already installed in the police cars.

The data is wirelessly downloaded to a secured server which eliminates the possibility of video tampering and ensures evidence security. Once downloaded the videos can be wirelessly forwarded directly to attorneys eliminating the need to download videos onto a CD or jump drive.

Training was provided to the officers in the proper use of the camera system, and we are excited about its evidential value. The cameras are worn on the outer vest of the officer and can be activated manually or with the activation of the lights on the police car.
