During the recently completed Click It or Ticket Campaign, the McPherson Police Department (MPD) conducted overtime saturation patrols to enforce aggressively Kansas occupant restraint, texting, impaired driving, and other traffic laws. During the campaign, seven MPD officers wrote 152 adult safety belt citations, 1 child restraint citation, and 14 citations for other violations, working a total of 68 hours.

According to Traffic Section Lieutenant Neufeld, “Stops and tickets are primarily meant to teach. We hope those we stopped learned from the experience. We made the roads a little safer for you and others who share the road with you. We will continue to issue citations because, while the Click It or Ticket campaign may be over, traffic enforcement never is.” The Kansas Department of Transportation supports the additional enforcement action Click It or Ticket requires by way of a grant to the McPherson Police Department.
