New Central Christian College women’s basketball coach Marc Golden has announced his first group of signees.

• Abi Anderson — Anderson is a 5-8 point guard from Ringwood, Okla. She lettered for four seasons, earning All-Conference honors. She was Academic All-State as she had a 4.0 GPA.

“We are excited to be getting a player like Abi,” Golden said. “She is a great teammate, a fierce defender and she can certainly put the ball in the basket. She is self-disciplined and well coached. I am grateful to (former Central) coach (Chris) Honeck for setting the stage for me with quality players like Abi."

• Kassidy Forsberg — A 6-1 center from Parma, Idaho, Forsberg is expected to provide some much-need height for the Tigers, who had a short team last year.

She averaged 8 points and 9 rebounds as a senior and was a two-time Defensive Player of the Year. Off the court she excels in the classroom with a 3.6 GPA.

“Kassidy is an athletic post player who moves well and is a committed shot-blocker and rebounder,” Golden said. “She can score at will and the best part is that she arrives on campus having already completed 37 college credits while in high school. She will be great leader on and off the court."

• Chloe Mefford — Golden added another 6-1 post player when he signed Mefford, who hails from Willow Park, Texas.

A two-year letterwinner, Mefford averaged 9 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks a game her senior year.

She is top-notch in the classroom with a 3.8 GPA.

“Chloe is a tough player who does tough-player things,” Golden said. “She is a superb athlete who plays with great intensity and a very high motor. She is not afraid of contact and that is the key ingredient we need as a team. The fact that she has a good shooting touch and will rebound like crazy is a huge bonus."
