MHS to meet Hutch for summer league title

The McPherson College Summer Basketball League, which has drawn a tremendous 52 teams this season, is wrapping up.

This is the final week, except for the varsity boys tournament, which is Monday, July 3.

The championship game of varsity boys is at 8 p.m. with McPherson to face Hutchinson.  McPherson defeated Berean Academy in one semi and Hutchinson upset Sterling, which was undefeated, in the other semi.  Hutch has been arguably the most improved team in the summer league, according to league director Tim Swartzendruber.

The other match-ups Monday:  Berean vs. Sterling for 3rd (6 p.m. main gym), Hesston vs. Elyria Christian School (B bracket championship) 7 p.m. in main gym, Nickerson vs. Hillsboro (B bracket consolation) 6 p.m. in auxiliary gym, Smoky Valley vs. El Dorado (B bracket 3rd place game) 8 p.m. auxiliary gym and Inman vs Trinity for 5th (7 p.m. in auxiliary gym).
