Finding inspiration in the beauty of the human form, artist Shannon Trevethan’s paintings are often an exploration of character.  Trevethan’s oil paintings will be shown in the McPherson Public Library meeting room from through August 27.

Trevethan, a native of Washington state, discovered her passion for oil painting while pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Fort Hays State University.  The subject matter of her work now fluctuates between plein air landscapes and figurative studio paintings based on still life compositions and collage.

Trevethan currently serves as Director of the Deines Cultural Center in Russell, KS and exhibits regularly in galleries across the region.  She frequently participates in live demonstrations, and holds workshops on painting and printmaking for children and adults.
