10U baseball team finishes fine season

McPherson’s 10U baseball team finished its season with a 19-6-1 record.

It competed last weekend in the state tournament, going 2-2.

• McPherson 10, Great Bend Bombers 2 — Carter Allen struck out seven in five innings to pick up the win. Ian Razak had three singles, and Brenden Doile and Hayden Hoxie had two singles apiece.

• Wichita Rebels 6, McPherson 1 — McPherson was held to three hits, one single each by Allen, Doile and Razak. 

• McPherson 9, Hays Jays 6 — It was a big game for Doile, who was the winning pitcher with five Ks in four innings and helped his own cause with three hits. Brock Richardson added two hits, one a double. Razak worked two innings of relief for the save, fanning three.

• Wichita Tigers 16, McPherson 8 — Four players had one hit apiece. Owen Fetsch struck out two in three innings on the hill.

Team members are Carter Allen, Grady Bearley, Ross Burrill, Brenden Doile, Owen Fetsch, Jase Fitzmorris, Hayden Hoxie, Daniel Jennings, Lincoln Koehn, Ian Razak, Brock Richardson and Brody Seidl. Coaches are Travis Doile, Seth Moddelmog, Keith Razak and Chris Allen.
