McPherson College men’s basketball coach Tim Swartzendruber has announced his second signing of a high school standout in as many days.

Chamaje Barideaux, a 5-11 guard from New Iberia, La., has committed to the Bulldogs for the 2017-18 season.

Barideaux was a four-year letterwinner for the Yellow Jackets of coach Todd Russ at New Iberia Senior High School. He was twice named to the All-Acadiana, All-District and All-Metro first teams, earning All-District MVP honors as a junior. Also a two-time Best of the Teche selection, Barideaux was named to the All-State second team as a senior as he lit it up for 21 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds per game.

“There are a lot of things that make signing Chamaje special," Swartzendruber said. "First, he comes highly recommended from one of our former star players, Marlon Dominique. Second, Chamaje's high school coach was Marlon's high school coach, and third, he is an extremely talented player. Chamaje will compete for varsity minutes as a freshman. He is good and I am very excited to have him join McPherson College and our basketball program."

Barideaux is the son of Chilon Barideaux and plans to major in psychology.
