Tabor solid pick to repeat as KCAC champ

WICHITA — Tabor College is picked to repeat as KCAC football champion, according to the conference coaches and media who participated in polling Thursday at the annual KCAC Media Day.

The Bluejays, 8-1 in the KCAC last year and 8-3 overall, received 8 of the 10 first-place votes from the coaches, with the remaing 2 going to Kansas Wesleyan.

Of the 22 media members who voted, 18 backed the Bluejays for the top spot, while Kansas Wesleyan received 3 and Sterling 1.

McPherson College’s Bulldogs, coming off a 1-8 KCAC season and 1-10 mark overall, were picked ninth in both polls. 

Bethany College, which had the same record as Mac but actually was 3-8 before forfeiting two wins for use of an ineligible player, was picked eighth in both polls.
