AXTELL, Neb. — McPherson’s Jacob Lackey split his two team matches on Monday in the opening round of the Kansas-Nebraska Junior Cup.

That was the theme of the day as the matches ended in a 4-4 tie heading into today’s singles matches.

Lackey played with Garden City’s Taylor Larsen in the four-ball matches, losing 4 & 2. In the afternoon foursomes play, Lackey and Salina’s Grant Herrunbruck were a 2 & 1 winner.

There are eight singles matches today to conclude the Cup. Lackey will then head out for the University of Central Oklahoma, where he’ll play his freshman season.
