McPherson High’s boys soccer team has drawn Wichita Classical as its first-round opponent in the Maize South Invitational that will be contested Sept. 5, 7 and 9.

The Bullpups and Classical play at 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 5 at the YMCA Field at Maize South. If the Bullpups win, they get the winner of Wichita Independent and Valley Center, and that game would be at 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 7 at Maize South. A loss and MHS would play at 3:30 on the YMCA Field at Maize South.

Other first-round games pit Salina South against Thomas More Prep, while Andover goes up against Maize South, both being played on Sept. 5.

The finals are scheduled for Sept. 9 at 4 p.m. Other consolation times are 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m.

MHS fans who are attending are reminded that games on the YMCA field have limited seating, so you might want to bring your lawn chairs.
