INMAN — For new Inman volleyball coach Emily Butler, she has only 699 wins to go to catch her predecessor.

Butler’s coaching debut was spectacular on Saturday, as her Teutons were a perfect 5-0, the final win coming against arch-rival Moundridge in the championship match of the Inman Invitational. She has taken over for legendary coach Russ Goering, who compiled 704 victories as Inman coach before stepping down after last season.

The Teutons were taken to three sets only once, that coming in their final pool match against Sedgwick. They routed Remington 25-16, 25-12 in the semifinals and then put away Moundridge in a pair of spirited games, 25-23 and 25-21.

The tourney marked the return of Bryan Otte as Moundridge coach and the Wildcats performed well, going 3-0 in pool play without dropping a set, then won a tough-three setter over Sedgwick in the semifinals.
