KCAC football teams were 1-1 on Saturday as just two schools opened their seasons early.

Saint Mary had no trouble with overmatched Trinity Bible, cruising to a 49-0 rout.

But in a bit of a surprise, No. 20-ranked Kansas Wesleyan went on the road and was upset by Olivet Nazarene, 31-24. The Tigers, only 4-7 last year, scored with 46 seconds left in the game for the victory.

The Coyotes had made a nice comeback, down 21-3 at one point. But former McPherson College player Kelly Cordova came on in relief of starting quarterback Wes Geisler and threw three second-half touchdown passes.

All KCAC teams will be in action on Saturday. Here is the slate of games:

• Morningside College at Tabor, 1:00

• Texas Wesleyan at McPherson College, 3:00

• Midland at Friends, 3:00

• Briar Cliff at Bethany, 4:00

• Northwestern College at Ottawa, 6:00

• Hastings College at Southwestern, 6:00

• Doane University at Sterling, 6:00

• Concordia University at Kansas Wesleyan, 6:00
