Swedes drop KCAC volleyball opener

SALINA — Kansas Wesleyan is expected to be one of the top volleyball teams in the KCAC this season and the Coyotes showed their arch-rival Bethany College why on Wednesday.

In the KCAC opener for both schools, KW was a 3-0 winner. The Coyotes captured 25-18, 25-17 and 25-14 decisions.

Asucena Duarte had a superb day in defeat with 9 kills and 13 digs. Conner Stolley had 11 digs.

Bethany, now 1-2 overall, heads to Seward, Neb., for matches against Missouri Southern State and Northwestern College. Next KCAC action is Wednesday at home against Tabor.
