Central Christian volleyball splits matches

STERLING —  Central Christian College’s volleyball team was 1-1 on Saturday in a pair of matches during the final day of the Sterling Tournament.

The Tigers opened with a 3-0 win over Baptist Bible College and all the sets weren’t close. Central was a 25-9, 25-13, 25-15 winner. Kacie Plett and Rebekah Glessner led in kills with 8 apiece. Hannah Fredrickson had 29 assists. Desiree Padilla led in digs with 9.

The Tigers then lost in straight sets to Presentation College, 25-11, 25-12, 25-13. 

Morgan Cook was tops in kills with 7, Fredrickson led in assists for a second straight match with 14 and Padilla again was the dig leader with 17.

Next Tiger action is Thursday when they begin Sooner Athletic Conference play against Southwestern Christian University. The match has a 7 p.m. starting time in Alexander Arena.
