ABERDEEN, S.D. — McPherson College’s men’s soccer team had a lot of time to think about their opening-game loss last week to No. 8-ranked MidAmerica Nazarene.

The Bulldogs learned from their mistakes of that game with an 8-0 rout of Presentation College on Saturday as part of the Saints’ Labor Day Classic.

Diego Loza came up with a hat trick for the Bulldogs to lead the offensive explosion as Mac showed what kind of team it can be when it’s firing on all cylinders.

The rest of the wealth was spread around as Christopher Kelly, Erik Espinoza, Sadam Ali, Tony Del Valle and Ian Canevari all scored singletons.

Del Valle and Kaonnye Opazo both had two assists apiece. Ali and Greg Roller also had assists. Mac had a decided 32-6 advantage in shots.

Jose Alonso picked up the win in goal, making 3 saves.

The Bulldogs, now 1-1, stay in South Dakota for Monday’s noon matchup with the University of Providence of Montana.
