HERINGTON — Canton-Galva found it rough going when it opened Wheat State League volleyball play on Tuesday.

The Eagles lost to Herington (18-25, 23-25) and Solomon (20-25, 18-25).

C-G is now 1-3 on the season.

“It was a tough opening night for our WSL play,” C-G coach Kaitlyn Bressie said. “We didn't play particularly well, but we faced good competition. Our senior captain Ashley Nightingale was a solid force for us again tonight. She has been consistent in the back row and leading our team, so we are going to continue to build our team around her. We have a few days to get ready for the weekend, and we are excited about our pool and chances this weekend at Goessel.”
