McPherson High ninth-grade volleyball coach Danica Fitzmorris credited the Bullpups’ varsity and JV for rallying her team during Thursday’s triangular at the Roundhouse.
After losing 25-20 and 25-21 decisions to Andale, the Bullpups stormed back to finish 2-1 on the night with wins over Buhler (25-13, 25-11) and Clearwater (25-14, 25-17).
“The first game against Andale we lost in two... and although they were tight margins, the girls did not come out with the intensity they needed to compete,” Fitzmorris said. “We received some needed emotion when our varsity and JV who came to support us this evening made their voices heard. Their noise and intensity was contagious and we came back fighting.”
The Bullpups improved to 8-3 on the season. They are in action Thursday in a quad at Wellington that also includes Andale and Circle.
