MHS' Blosser earns 7th medalist

NEWTON — McPherson High’s Dylan Blosser earned a seventh-place individual finish and the Bullpups were seventh as a team Thursday in the Newton Invitational Golf Tournament hosted by Sand Creek Station.

Blosser carded an 81, though he was only four shots off the winning score. There was a three-way tie for first at 77, with Hutchinson freshman Jake Lanham winning the playoff from Valley Center’s Alan Joyal and Newton’s Lane Pauls.

Lanham helped the Salthawks to the team title with a 330, three shots better than Newton. The Bullpups shot a 361 for seventh, finishing ahead of three teams.

Other MHS scores were Brandon McMillan (93), Casey Cheek (93),, CJ Steiner (94), TJ Stites (96) and Brandon Brown (106).
