GOESSEL — Goessel has been a longtime state volleyball power.

The Bluebirds showed Elyria Christian School why on Tuesday.

Goessel sped to 25-8 and 25-5 victories as part of a triangular.

The Eagles were much more competitive in their second match, taking Canton-Galva to three sets before losing. After C-G won the first set 25-15, Elyria bounced back to win 26-24 to force a deciding set. C-G won that one 25-18.

Bailey Unruh and Brekken Anderson had 8 digs apiece for Elyria and Christin Vetter had 7 kills.
