McPherson High’s volleyball team returns home Tuesday and it will be a special night at the Roundhouse — and not just because the Bullpups go up against No. 1-ranked Rose Hill as part of the triangular.
The Bullpups will also be hosting a Childhood Cancer Awareness Event. They will partner with WACCC--Women and Children Combating Cancer — to raise funds in honor of seventh-graders Kaiden Schroeder and Ike Bauers, local MMS students who are currently battling childhood cancer.
McPherson High will donate half of all gate fees taken that night and several local businesses will match those donations. Fans are encouraged to wear their “Strikeout Cancer” or other cancer awareness shirts to the game. WACCC will also be selling shirts as a fundraiser at a table in the Activity Center to support Ike and Kaiden.
The first match is set for 5 p.m. Fans are asked to pack the Roundhouse and make it the biggest crowd ever for an MHS home volleyball match.
