GODDARD — Since McPherson High doesn’t have a full JV tennis team, Bullpup coach Noah Lindfors just wants it to concentrate on placing as high as it can.

The Bullpups competed Thursday in the Goddard Invitational and were fourth, one point out of tying for third.

“With not having a full team, I am pleased with nearly finishing in the Top 3 as a team,” Lindfors said. “I felt that the matches we lost could have gone our way just as easily. We were in almost every point and game, just couldn't keep the lead or win crucial points. We saw some pretty good competition that really teated our patience within each point. We know from here that patience and movement are two key skills to have in your tennis tool belt.”

Jensen Mierkiewicz and Caitlin Faulk were 2-1 for second at No. 2 doubles. In singles, Jacie Myers was 2-1 for third at No. 2 while Cheyanne Williams was 1-2 at No. 1 for fourth. MMS did not have a No. 1 doubles team.
