BENNINGTON — Inman’s Nicholas Martisko captured his second straight cross country title on Thursday when he won the Bennington Invitational by a whopping 20 seconds.
Martisko, only a sophomore, ran a 17:24.06.
Also for the Teuton boys, finishers were Nathan Bashore (24th in 20:33.7), Jacob Harris (36th in 21:12.62), Peter Buller (42nd in 21:53.53), Connor Sivils (57th in 23:29.51), Nathan Enns (70th in 26:17.09) and Sean Smallcanyon (71st in 26:653.61).
Inman was third in the team race, trailing Bennington and Southeast of Saline.
It also was a good day for Inman’s Aisjha Miles, who was 10th for the Teutons in the girls’ race in 23:15.5. Tia Cole was 37th in 26:36.80 and Anran Ma was 63rd in 33:37.9.
Inman coach Jay Parsons was very pleased as the Teutons seem to get better every meet.
“What does a coach say when for two consecutive meets a majority of the team runs a personal best?” Parsons said. “I say, ‘way to go and let’s start becoming more consistent in running those times in future meets.’”
