McPherson High’s football team is back in the good graces of

The Bullpups, who fell out of the Class 4A Division I rankings by CIK after losing to Maize South during Week 2, popped back in this week at No. 10 after routing Winfield, 38-14.

That means MHS’ game this week at Augusta will be its third game against a state-ranked opponent as Augusta is No. 7. The Orioles are 3-0 on the year, albeit against weaker competition than the Bullpups have played.

The complete 4A D-I list:

1)Bishop Miege, 3-0

2)Maize South, 3-0

3)Basehor-Linwood, 3-0

4)De Soto, 3-0

5)Andale, 3-0

6)Louisburg, 2-1

7)Buhler, 2-1

8)Augusta, 3-0

9)Paola, 3-0

10)McPherson, 2-1

Hesston, which tumbled out of the 3A rankings after a first-week, still has not reappeared despite being Halstead and Larned, both solid teams, the last two weeks.
