Tiger golfers turn in good performances

OKLAHOMA CITY — Central Christian College’s men’s golf team again received good performances from Collin Duckworth and Lowell Stephens during the NCCAA Central Regional  that began on Monday.

Duckworth is tied for 10th after matching 74s for a 148 total. Stephens turned in a pair of 76s for a 152 and is in a tie for 21st. Thirty-six holes were played Monday, with 18 set for today.

Other CCC scores were Tyler Swanson (85-79-164), Trehern McGill (83-86-179) and Matt Rettinger (84-87-171).

Central is in seventh place. McMurry University leads and the low score was a 68-71 by Colton Ryan of Central Baptist.

The Central women are in fourth place led by Kari Kirl. She had an 88, good for a tie for 14th. The women play two 18-holes rounds.

Other Central scores are MaiLeAna Bruce (91), Sarah Gordzelik (95), Vanessa Warner (98) and Summer Bruce (105).

Southwestern Christian is in the lead, while Colorado Christian’s Katrina Mendez was the first-day medalist with a 73.
