YORK, Neb. — Central Christian College’s women’s soccer team gave up two first-half goals to York College on Tuesday and the Panthers made them stand up as they completed the 2-0 shutout.
Central actually had a 14-13 advantage in shots, but that didn’t prevent it from falling to 3-4 on the season.
York scored its first goal just over 3 minutes into the game and the second goal came at the 28-minute mark.
Goldie Bougher had 6 saves in goal for Central.
“We're still figuring out what kind of team we are," Central coach Scott Fogarty said. "We have moments where we really impress, but almost in the same breath we play down at a level that isn't good enough. York is a much-improved team and were the better team today, but we still believe in ourselves and on most days we'd like to think we'd be victorious, but at the end of the day you have to prove it and do the work. Today we didn't do the work."
Central returns home on Friday to take on Southwestern College of the KCAC.
