LINDSBORG — Bethany College’s volleyball team picked up its second conference win of the season on Wednesday with a 3-1 victory over York College at Hahn Gym.

The first set was a marathon before York finally prevailed, 32-30.

But the rest of the night belonged to the Swedes, who won 25-17, 25-20, 25-14.

Azecuna Duarte and Kim Stringer were kill leaders with 19 and 17, respectively. Karissa Chaparro was tops in assists with a whopping 36. Bethany served up 12 aces as that was a strength all night. Haley Reifstick led in digs with 14, one more than Duarte.

Bethany has a good chance to make it three conference wins on the season Friday when it hosts Southwestern. The Swedes are 2-4 in the KCAC, 3-11 overall.
