Two recent fund-raisers promoted by McPherson High’s athletic department raised considerable money for good causes.
On Tuesday, $2,589.80 was raised for Women and Children Combating Cancer (WACCC) during the McPherson High volleyball triangular. Honorees of the night were middle school students Ike Bauers and Kaiden Schroeder, who are battling a terrible illness.
During the MHS Fall Preview last month, the Drive 4 Ur School event raised $8,580 for the MHS athletic department.
“Both the Drive 4UR School and Childhood Cancer Awareness events are great examples of how lucky we are to live in the community of McPherson,” MHS Athletic Director Shane Backhus told Midkansasonline.com. “We can always count on Bullpup fans to support the kids in our programs and those in need.
