Fearless emboldened by 22-3 week

It’s about time.

Fearless Forecaster got back on track last week by picking 22 of the 25 games correctly to improve his season record to 63-16 and is now just decimal points shy of his coveted 80 percent goal.

Fearless missed on Andover Central snuffing Abilene, Little River laying waste to Wakefield and Kansas State going on the road and being stifled by Vanderbilt.

• AVCTL DIVISION III •

McPherson 21, Augusta 7 — The Orioles always play the Bullpups tough in Augusta. This is a good test for the Bullpup offense as the Orioles’ strength is their defense.

Andover 28, Andover Central 21 — The intracity showdown should go down to the wire.

Arkansas City 20, Winfield 14 — The Bulldogs will be the champions of Cowley County.

Coffeyville 16, Circle 14 — Circle doesn’t have many chances, but this could be one of them.

Buhler 21, Maize South 6 — The Mavericks finally give up a touchdown — and finally lose.

Last week — 4-1. Season — 11-2.

• AREA •

Canton-Galva 38, Wakefield 28 — Three in a row for the Eagles.

Hesston 35, Nickerson 27 — There may not be a team that plays more exciting games than Hesston.

Solomon 36, Little River 12 — The Gorillas are just too physical.

Sterling 27, Moundridge 14 — The Wildcats will again be competitive, but too much speed for Sterling.

Smoky Valley 28, Hillsboro 7 — The Vikings should be in control from the opening kickoff.

Ell-Saline 30, Inman 7 — The Teutons continue the gauntlet.

Last week — 4-1. Season — 10-7.

• KCAC •

McPherson College 35, Southwestern 33 — The Bulldogs need to find a pass defense to take some pressure off the offense.

Bethany 39, Bethel 14 — The Swedes start 3-0. Been a long time since they were a factor in the KCAC.

Saint Mary 42, Friends 34 — Drew Cortez will have a big day for the Spires.

Tabor 38, Ottawa 28 — Always a good game when these teams hook up.

Kansas Wesleyan 41, Sterling 38 — Look for a lot of points to be scored.

Last week — 5-0. Season — 17-3.

• BIG 12 •

Oklahoma 63, Baylor 28 — The Sooners are an offensive juggernaut.

Oklahoma State 45, TCU 33 — The Cowboys may have the best offense in the country.

West Virginia 77, Kansas 21 — The over-under by my count is 49 points in the first half for the Mountaineers.

Texas Tech 56, Houston 52 — More than 1,000 yards of offense is possible.

Kansas State and Texas are idle.

Last week — 9-1. Season — 25-4.
